2016 dump?

I'm not sure how this post is going to be timestamped when I publish it but it was actually from January 2017 and I didn't post it because I thought it was stupid. Actually I still think it's stupid but whatever.

Also, if you're interested in other things that I wrote between the last post and this one, I also wrote the following posts in June of 2016 on a different blog, because I lost my 2 factor while I was traveling and I got way too excited about starting a travel blog and then got burnt out before I even finished recording the Europe trip I was on:

But that aside (lol), I might also revamp this blog soon to talk about my new life now (now that I am old and wisecrusty), because I'm clearly really bad at starting new things and would rather continue knitting this old sweater that I started working on like 10 years ago so it makes me feel like I've accomplished something even though I actually haven't written anything substantial in like at least half a decade (College essays don't count, because they were probably to blame for destroying my creativity).

I felt bad about not updating this blog in a bajillion years, so here's my update for the year.

JANUARY
I started the new year in China at my grandparents' place. I felt old for falling asleep before midnight on new years eve. I also was using Tinder at this time to try to get ahold of English speakers in the city to give me ideas on what to do while my parents were out having fun with their friends. Ended up going to a few bookshops, and trolling through the fake sneaker market. Met a few interesting photographer tinderellas too, so now I follow them on instagram. I managed to match with only 1 girl, an Australian, who was doing the same thing as me, LOL. Also caught up with Billy since he was in town, went on a 1 day Seoul adventure with my mom, and went to karaoke with my parents' friends. Went to the hot springs with my family too! Found that chinese sizing is horrendous. I am an XL in everything.

FEBRUARY
John came to visit me at Harvard. I started the new semester (A SEMESTER OF NO CS CLASSES AND FUN!). Alexpong said he would plan valentines day this year but failed, so we went to see deadpool instead. What's new. I was also growing a lot of grass (like actual grass -- wheatgrass) for a class project. In the end, I made a grass robot. Yes my senior spring was fun.

MARCH
Spring break! Went to Japan with Can C and took half a week off school. It was awesome! I wonder if there is something about being in Japan I really like because it's such a different culture and there are so many beautiful things that I wish I could take part in in my daily life but which I cannot. Anyway I like Japan a lot. We visited Tokyo, Kyoto, Yokohama, Osaka, and Hiroshima. The food was tasty and the company was good. Castles and cities and nature and temples and cute dogs and cute girls. And the TRAINS! Idk what it is about japanese trains but I love them so much.

APRIL
After I got back from Japan I started my second art project for the semester for this class, which was a body of work centered around traffic cones. I also had a painting accepted into the college student art show, so that was cool.

MAY
Finished a bunch more paintings for class, did my final presentation for my traffic cones project, submitted my final essays, and I graduated! No exams woot! Went to Toronto with my parents, and the thousand islands (of thousand island salad dressing fame!), and Niagara falls.

JUNE
Went traveling in Europe with Alex and Tony.

JULY
Took an architecture class at Berkeley, and moved into my apartment in San Francisco. Alex got me an espresso machine for my birthday so that I would spend less money on coffee.

AUGUST
I had three weeks off between when the architecture class ended and when I started work. Looking back, I have no idea what I did in those weeks.

SEPTEMBER
Started work at Square

OCTOBER
My roommates and I played a lot of torchlight 2. We thought it would be fun to get a game together and play it, and unfortunately it ended up in gaming until 4am. Didn't do anything for halloween.

NOVEMBER
Flew to New York for thanksgiving with the Pongs!

DECEMBER
Figured out that I was stuck in the US for Christmas this year and was sad about it for a while. Still had a winter break though, so spent it traveling to Japantown. Kinokuniya is a great book store.
